Worked as a specialist and later senior analyst in Russia from 1995-2000: At age 25 chosen from over 400 competitors as one of 35 specialists to develop and implement management structures in quality control, sales, factory flow lines, product research and development for processing factories and factory vessels located in Russia, Korea, Japan and China. Became senior analyst for Russia in final year.
Worked as independent consultant and general manager from 2000 – 2005: in various companies worldwide. Independent consultant for fish processing and product development. Worked with 12 different companies including some of the world’s most successful in Iceland, Norway, Greenland and Canada (see links below). Part owner and general manager of 3 factory vessels over 100 ft in length.
Worked for Ocean Choice International Inc from 2005 – 2008 as an director of operations. Managed day-to-day operations, including marketing, sales and production output. Elevated company from a loss position to a profit status and redesigned facility interior to improve productivity.
Noel has 18 years of experience as the Operations Manager of Martak Canada. During this time he has run day-to-day operations for the company including: managing employees, identifying and evaluating new opportunities, interacting with clients, and providing leadership for the company.
In addition to his wealth of experience with the company, he has a strong technical background including a Diploma of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from the Fisheries and Marine Institute of Memorial University, 4th Class Power Engineer, and Industrial Mechanical certification.
Noel’s combination of experience, technical background, and leadership has helped the company grow and adapt in a changing industry environment.
Gary has 25 years of experience working in the seafood processing service industry, including 9 years as Martak’s Sales Manager. He brings a wealth of knowledge on product lines and proven ability to work with clients to provide solutions to their challenges.
Additionally, Gary has worked to develop Martak’s strong relationships with both its suppliers and customers and currently manages Martak’s growing sales team. This includes training and mentoring new sales staff in both Atlantic Canada and the Greater Toronto Area.
His ability to obtain and develop high quality new product lines has been key in growing Martak to a well established company in Canada. He has also been responsible for representing Martak at tradeshows and client meetings across North America.
Sean joined Martak in 2017 and brings unique solutions to the company and his clients. He graduated in 1997 from the Beijing University of Chemical Technical in China with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), specializing in Polymer Materials.
He is a creative thinking professional with over 16 years of international experience in marketing strategy, planning, business development and sales.
Sean is excited to join Martak and is looking forward to new challenges and setting strategic directions for Martak.
Chad has 14 years of belting and industrial sales experience and has work for Martak since 2015. He has in-depth knowledge of each product line that Martak carries and works with our customers to find the product that best fits their needs.
Additionally, Chad has a strong technical background having graduated from the Newfoundland Marine Institute’s Naval Architecture program. His combined academic and industrial sales experience helps him work with clients from any industry and find the right product for them.
Chad works directly between suppliers, customers, and Martak’s fabrication staff to deliver on time – every time.
Landon joined Martak in 2017, and brings engineering expertise and an innovative drive to the company. He graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 2016 with a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng), specializing in Mechanical Engineering.
He has experience developing engineering solutions for companies across North America, with a combined two years of industry internship experience. These internships focused on solving engineering problems and managing projects in a broad range of industries including: Offshore Oil and Gas, Heavy Manufacturing, Regulatory Oversight, Proposal Management, and Telecommunications.
He is excited to join the Martak team and looks forward to developing innovative solutions for the seafood industry.
Cole joined Martak in the beginning of 2017 and brings 8 years of broad experience in the fishing and seafood processing industry. Cole first began working for the Canadian Navy as a marine engineer and later studied Marine Navigation at Holland Collage.
Since then he has worked on a variety of fishing vessels from inshore lobster, crab and shrimp vessels to offshore factory trawlers all over Eastern Canada and Greenland. Cole’s strong knowledge of the industry allows him to view an operation with a wide lens and narrow down to identify and understand the issues and needs, and to drive results. Cole looks forward to expanding Martak’s business, building and growing successful relationships with new and current clients in Eastern Canada.
